Call a Clown is run by the Office of Clown Affairs. A standing body. Based in Leeds. Established 2018.
The Office maintains a network of clowns across Yorkshire and the North of England. The clowns are not in costume. They have ordinary jobs. They have been placed in many fields for a long time.
The work is plain. A clown attends. A clown notices. A clown does less than is expected. This is the method and there is not much more to it.
The clown is not there to perform. The clown is there to be present, to pay attention, and to put the script in the bin. People have found this useful. The Office takes the view that the clown has been underestimated for a long time, and does not argue the point further.
